Victory always give happiness while defeat gives loneliness.

Israelites and Philistines

1st Point:
Causes of Defeat

• They come to war without the approval of God.
•  They never consulted their spiritual advisers.
• The power of God was not on them. – I Samuel 4:10-11
•  The glory of God departed from them. – I Samuel 4:21-22

2nd Point:
Cause of Victory

• They ask God’s approval by praying diligently. – I Samuel 7:8
•  They forsook all their idols. – I Samuel 7:3-4
• They offered burnt offering as an act of thanksgiving. – I Samuel 7:9-10
• They consulted Samuel as their Spiritual adviser.
•  The power of God manifested in the battle. – I Samuel 7:10,13
